Kellie"s Castle experience

Kellie's castle is about 15km from Ipoh. Full of mystery and mystic

Visited the Castle in year 2009...walking thru and wondering around within the Castle

Kellie's Castle is an abandoned incomplete mansion in Batu Gajah, Perak. It is probably the most extraordinary incomplete building in Malaysia, way back for almost 100 years

Mesra Shoppe, the first standalone convenience store of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) was officially opened at UTP on 17 February 2009.

The opening ceremony which was officiated by UTP Rector, Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Kasim marked a milestone for PDB and further demonstrated the company's commitment to provide quality service and convenience to its customers and loyal patrons.

Also present to witness the event were Puan Rubiah Buang, Vice-President of Network Delivery Support, Malayan Banking Berhad and Encik Mohd Fadzlan Abdul Samad, Senior General Manager of Retail Business Division, PDB.

In his speech, Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin said, "This initiative of setting up a convenience store is in line with UTP's continuous effort in improving and upgrading our facilities both for our students and staff. Convenience stores in academic buildings such as this will definitely be useful and convenient for lecturers and students to drop by between classes".

Similar to the familiar Kedai Mesra at PETRONAS Stations, the Mesra Shope at UTP offers items ranging from foodstuff to household items and car lubricants as well as accessories. Altogether, there are more than 1,000 line items available. It also offers additional services such as Maybank's automated teller machine (ATM) and e-Pay facilities.

"Students can simply hop over to Mesra Shoppe and purchase drinks or some snacks without having to make their way out of the university campus " save energy, save time " convenience redefined", said Encik Mohd Fadzlan.

"Mesra Shoppe also aims to create new opportunities and encourage local entrepreneurs by providing them a venue to trade and grow their business", he added.

Throughout the years, PDB has introduced various initiatives that aim to offer better convenience to its customers and the community at large.

In September 2008, the company successfully introduced the 'Mesra Drive-Thru' facility, a 24-hour drive-thru convenience store at PETRONAS Station in USJ 20, making it the first of its kind to be introduced within the petromart industry in Malaysia.

Earlier, PDB officially launched the PETRONAS Station at UTP in line with its continuous efforts to expand its retail business in meeting the demands and needs of customers. The station also offers services as provided by PDB's Kedai Mesra convenience stores.
